Diples with Honey

Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs until well combined. Gradually add the flour and ouzo, kneading until a soft dough forms. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about ½ cm thickness. Cut the dough into strips about 5-7 cm wide and make a lengthwise slit in the center of each strip.

In a deep-frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Fry the dough strips in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Syrup:

In a large pan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the Navarino Icons Pure Greek Honey and simmer for an additional 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Dip the fried diples into the warm honey syrup, ensuring they are well coated. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a serving platter.

Serve the diples warm, garnished with crushed walnuts or more Navarino Icons Pure Greek Honey if desired.
